This is the result of airbrushing an example model in Photoshop using several tools including the brush tool and an array filters and image manipulation effects. One of the most interesting tools I used was the 'Smart Blur' tool which allowed me to add a glow to the model and remove more of the blemishes that I had missed when using the Spot healing tool.
Another thing I decided to do was to remove the objects from the background (fireplace etc.) so the viewer would focus on the model. I decided to add a pinky-red gradient map to the image to show off the cheek bones' highlights and shadows. I think this has added a nice element to the image.
